Sandra Birkner was born 1984 in Gera and grew up near Cologne, Germany.
After doing an apprenticeship for three years as a photographer she decided to work for different photograhers as an assistant in the area of car/transportation, lifestyle, people and celebrities.
Since 2006 she is studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund, Germany.
During the study she found her passion in fashion and people photography. For the last 2 years she has been producing fashion films. The combination of storytelling, dramaturgy, sound and vision gives her the possibility to be playful and to transfer her ideas of fashion photography into moving images. In her opinion fashion has to be shown in movement and a fashion film has to procure the ideas of the fashion designer. She likes the challenge of creating something new, unique and giving the work her personal signature.
Currently she is working on her thesis project, creating a short film.
